Marijuana Treats MS.
Recent news has highlighted medical marijuana’s miraculous treatment of epilepsy. These life-saving developments are exciting, but demonstrate only a small spectrum of marijuana’s medical potential.
Halcyon Organics is committed to communicating all known medicinal benefits of cannabis.
We don’t want people who suffer from other serious conditions to be left behind as Georgia’s medical marijuana bill, HB 885 Haleigh’s Hope Act, is being finalized.
Medical marijuana is proven to be a superior pharmacological option for treating multiple sclerosis and cerebral palsy.
Multiple sclerosis is a chronic, disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system (CNS). Symptoms include numbness in limbs, loss of vision, and paralysis. Many MS sufferers are in constant pain.
Cerebral palsy refers to a broad group of disorders that affects a person’s ability to move. It is a life-long condition with no known cure. Cerebral palsy symptoms include degradation of muscle control, body movement, reflex, posture, muscle coordination, vision, learning, speech, and cognitive function. Epilepsy is also common with cerebral palsy.
The cannabinoids found in medical marijuana are anecdotally and clinically proven to treat many of the above symptoms with no negative side effects.
The two most researched cannabinoids are THCA and CBD. These medicinally powerful compounds ease the muscle spasticity and pain associated with these two debilitating conditions. They also prevent epileptic episodes and mitigate brain damage. This is due to THCA’s antispasmodic, anticonvulsive, and neurotransmitting properties. CBD is an anti-inflammatory, anxiolytic, and antioxidant known to remove dangerous acetylcholinesterase enzymes and tau proteins from the brain.
Both of these compounds are non-psychoactive, non-psychotropic, and non-psychotomimetic.
Halcyon Organics bases all medical claims on reputable clinical studies.
I’d like to share some anecdotal evidence as well.
On a recent visit to California, where we are legally licensed to possess and distribute medical marijuana, we had lunch with one of our patients. He suffers from both multiple sclerosis and cerebral palsy. While not completely paralyzed, his conditions renders him wheelchair bound and in chronic pain.
Before we ordered our meals, we gave him one of our new products in a chewable gummy form. It was apparent that we was having a tough day as his speech was forced and muscle convulsions more violent than normal. He told us that he had run out of medical cannabis and his symptoms were acting up.
We ate and talked. After 45 minutes, his speech was more fluid and he regained control of his motor skills. The next thing that happened was a borderline miracle.
Without warning, he placed his hands on the table in front of him and stood up from his wheelchair. He stretched his arms out and with a look of sheer joy he said, “This is the straightest I’ve ever stood up and it doesn’t hurt.”
This is real medicine. This is what Halcyon Organics will offer Georgians and other southerners when we get the legal ‘go ahead.’
Life offers you very few opportunities to make a positive difference. That is what Halcyon Organics is doing.
